One of the most special places I’ve ever ridden my bike. We shuttled up the side of the active rumbling volcano in a tiny 2 wheel drive pick up truck loaded to the gills with people and bikes. I sat in the bed of the truck as we slowly crawled our way up the volcano. Branches whacked me in the face, spiders crawled in my hair, and vines threatened to rip us and the bike out of the back. Our driver stopped periodically to machete vines out of the way. From the top we had a 6,500’ decent through thick, wild canopy jungle.
